Former CEO Alan Hassenfeld Dead at 76 … Family Founded Toy Maker

Alan G. Hassenfeld, former CEO of Hasbro and member of its founding family, died in London on July 8 at age 76. He led the toy giant from 1989 to 2003, overseeing iconic brands like Monopoly and My Little Pony. Hassenfeld was a renowned philanthropist who co-founded Hasbro Children’s Hospital and championed children’s welfare globally. He retired as chairman emeritus last year, ending his family’s century-long direct involvement with the company. Rhode Island leaders and Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks praised his compassionate leadership and legacy of corporate social responsibility.
