Parades, flags and songs: The campaign to force Ukrainian children to love RussiannRussia is systematically indoctrinating Ukrainian children in occupied territories through forced participation in pro-Russian parades, anthem singing, and exhibitions glorifying the invasion. State-sponsored youth organizations like Yunarmia provide military training to children as young as eight while schools implement Russian curricula that justify the war. The Kremlin has transported over 20,000 Ukrainian children to Russia under ‘integration programs,’ with thousands prevented from returning home. These actions have drawn international sanctions and an ICC arrest warrant against Putin for unlawful deportation. The campaign aims to erase Ukrainian identity by portraying Ukraine as a Western invention and Russian forces as liberators.
