nnOlympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested for fourth-degree domestic violence assault at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after shoving her boyfriend, fellow sprinter Christian Coleman, during an argument at a TSA security checkpoint. According to the Port of Seattle Police Department report, the incident occurred on Sunday and resulted in Richardson being held in custody for nearly 19 hours. Coleman, who identified Richardson as his girlfriend of two years, declined to press charges and refused to be designated as a victim. The arrest came just days before both athletes competed in preliminary rounds at the USATF Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon. Richardson later withdrew from the 100-meter finals despite having an automatic bid to the World Championships as reigning champion.
