Country singer Conner Smith received a misdemeanor citation on July 10 for failing to yield in a fatal June 8 Nashville accident that killed 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins. The Metro Nashville Police Department charged Smith with ‘failure to yield the right of way resulting in death’ after confirming no signs of impairment or distracted driving. Dobbins was struck in a marked crosswalk on 3rd Avenue while Smith drove a Chevrolet Silverado. Smith cooperated fully with investigators and will appear in court for booking on August 7. His attorney stated Smith remains focused on honoring Dobbins’ memory through pedestrian safety initiatives.
